At New Relic, Product Managers are leaders with vision, strategic thinking, customer obsession, bias for action, and passion for data-driven decisions. The Growth & Monetization teams are at the core of product and go-to-market at New Relic.
We are hiring a Senior Product Manager for one of our monetization teams responsible for the Usage Rating Pipeline. This pipeline is mission-critical for New Relic’s consumption-based pricing model, serving as the backbone for customer experiences like the Usage UI as well as downstream systems including billing, reporting, and data warehousing.
In this role, you will ensure the reliability and accuracy of our current pipeline while driving improvements to support scale. You will also play a pivotal role in launching new products by integrating them into the usage rating ecosystem. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and leadership to drive the product roadmap effectively with a diverse set of stakeholders from Leadership, Engineering, Finance, Customer Success, Sales, and Legal.
What you'll do
- Own the Usage Rating Pipeline: Set the vision and strategy for the usage rating pipeline, ensuring it remains robust, accurate, and reliable as the foundation of our consumption business.
- Drive Reliability & Accuracy: maintain the high fidelity of usage data that powers customer billing and internal reporting.
- Enable New Product Launches: Partner closely with product teams to launch new offerings by defining and implementing their usage rating requirements.
- Support Key Integrations: Manage the pipeline as a platform that feeds front-end customer experiences (Usage UI) and critical back-end systems (Billing systems, Reporting, and Data Warehouse).
- Build a Data-Driven Roadmap: Define, analyze, and report business metrics to meet area-specific OKRs.
Cross-Functional Leadership: Effectively manage dependencies, priorities, and plans across multiple functional areas to ensure alignment to meet business goals.
This role requires
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience. Computer Science background preferred.
- 5+ years of experience building and launching technical products as a Product Manager, specifically with backend data pipelines or platform products.
- Ability to analyze data and use it to deliver innovative capabilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to bring clarity in the face of ambiguity.
Bonus points if you have
- Experience with SaaS consumption billing models and monetization of features.
- Experience with business systems like Salesforce, Zuora, NetSuite, and Snowflake (highly relevant for billing and warehouse integrations).
- Experience working with diverse stakeholders like Sales, Finance, Legal, Customer Success.
- Prior SaaS product experience with a developer persona.
