We are a global team of innovators and pioneers dedicated to shaping the future of observability. At New Relic, we build an intelligent platform that empowers companies to thrive in an AI-first world by giving them unparalleled insight into their complex systems. As we continue to expand our global footprint, we're looking for passionate people to join our mission. If you're ready to help the world's best companies optimize their digital applications, we invite you to explore a career with us!
Your opportunity
New Relic is looking for a data-driven Group Vice President (GVP) to architect the strategic intersection of product value, data insights, and commercial growth. As the "economic architect" of our platform, you will lead the evolution of our pricing and packaging strategies while delivering the data intelligence that powers our Product, Marketing, and Sales engines.
You will sit in the driver’s seat of New Relic’s global growth strategy, overseeing a 20+ person Product Management and Analytics team. Your mission is to bridge the gap between technical platform usage and sustainable revenue across our entire ecosystem—from high-touch Enterprise accounts to our high-velocity self-service e-commerce business.
What you'll do
- Monetization Strategy: Own the end-to-end pricing and packaging lifecycle for the New Relic platform, optimizing everything from our Free Tier entry point to complex Enterprise consumption models.
- Consumption-Based Billing: Lead the strategy for our usage-based billing platform, ensuring it is transparent, scalable, and aligned with customer value.
- Data-Driven Growth: Transform raw platform telemetry into actionable insights. You will define the metrics that help guide product direction, trigger sales plays, and sharpen marketing attribution.
- Cross-Functional Orchestration: Serve as the strategic glue between Product, Engineering, Sales, Marketing, and Finance to ensure a unified Go-To-Market (GTM) motion.
Key Responsibilities
- Evolve the Portfolio: Design and iterate on pricing structures that reflect the value of new platform capabilities without introducing friction to the customer experience.
- Operationalize Insights: Build out the analytics infrastructure required to surface "Product-Qualified Lead" (PQL) signals for the sales team.
- Lead & Scale: Manage and mentor a high-performing team of 20+ PMs and Data Analysts, fostering a culture of experimentation and rigorous performance coaching.
- Strategic Influence: Act as a key advisor to executive leadership on NRR (Net Revenue Retention), churn mitigation, and expansion opportunities based on usage patterns.
This role requires
- 10+ Years of Executive Leadership: Proven track record leading Product Management, Pricing, or Business Strategy functions in a high-growth SaaS environment.
- Monetization Expertise: Experience with usage-based/consumption models and complex packaging initiatives
- Data Literacy: Exceptional ability to interpret product usage patterns and translate them into commercial strategy. You are comfortable navigating data at the "atomic" level to drive "board-level" decisions.
- Collaborative Powerhouse: A history of successfully navigating complex, cross-functional environments and building alignment across disparate stakeholders.
