Manager, Commercial Sales (APJ)
Location: Australia (required) | Covering Australia, Singapore, India
Your opportunity
New Relic is building a new Commercial Sales motion across APJ focused on driving expansion and renewal within our install base ($25K–$100K segment).
This is a builder-first leadership role. You will inherit a small team (3 reps on day one) and be responsible for scaling it based on performance, while defining how we operate across a distributed region.
You will lead a team that fully owns the customer lifecycle—from renewal through expansion—operating in a high-velocity environment while supporting more complex opportunities within existing accounts.
What you’ll do
- Lead and scale a distributed Commercial Sales team across Australia, Singapore, and India
- Own a team quota across renewal and expansion revenue
- Operate as a player-coach, stepping into deals and setting execution standards
- Drive full-cycle ownership across the install base, including renewals and expansion
- Establish operating rigor across pipeline management, forecasting, and deal inspection
- Build and refine the commercial playbook for install-base growth (segmentation, prioritization, engagement)
- Balance high-velocity execution with support for complex, multi-threaded deals
- Partner cross-functionally with PLG, Marketing, Customer Success, and Sales Engineering
- Hire, onboard, and develop talent as the team scales
This role requires
- Experience leading commercial or mid-market SaaS sales teams
- Proven success in full-cycle sales environments, including renewals and expansion ownership
- Experience operating in high-velocity sales motions with strong pipeline discipline
- Demonstrated ability to build and scale teams in ambiguous or early-stage environments
- Experience leading distributed teams across multiple geographies
- Strong operator mindset with the ability to build structure and drive execution
- Ability to balance hands-on deal involvement with team leadership
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills
What will make you successful
- Builder-first mindset, especially in the first 12 months
- Bias for action and ability to create structure where it doesn’t exist
- Ability to operate across both high-velocity and complex deal environments
- High standards for accountability and performance
- Comfort owning a number across both retention and growth
Please note that visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
