Job Summary:

As a Legal Counsel at Verifone, you will be an integral member of our Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) legal team, with a particular focus on our operations in Israel and France. You will collaborate closely with business leaders to identify and address legal risks and draft and negotiate commercial agreements, and provide expert legal advice. This position also entails close cooperation with our global litigation, employment, and intellectual property (IP) law teams on Israeli- and French-law matters. Reporting to the Head of Legal for the EMEA region who is based in London, you will work on legal matters in Hebrew, French, and English, making language proficiency a critical component of the role. Job Responsibilities:

  • Legal Risk Management: Collaborate with business leaders in Israel and France to identify and mitigate legal risks associated with Verifone's operations.
  • Contract Drafting and Negotiation: Draft and negotiate a wide range of commercial legal agreements, including hardware sales agreements, software license agreements, SaaS agreements, data protection agreements, and others.
  • RFP Review: Review RFP conditions and responses to ensure compliance with legal requirements and Verifone's global risk policies.
  • Legal Advisory: Provide general legal advice on the company's operations in Israel and France, with a focus on compliance with local and international laws.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with the global litigation, employment, and IP law teams on French matters overseen by those teams.

Skills and Experience we desire

  • Fully qualified attorney in either Israel or France.
  • Minimum of 7 years of legal experience, with a strong emphasis on commercial law, particularly in cross-border matters.
  • Must have spent significant time at a distinguished law firm in a commercial practice area.
  • Experience working in a multi-cultural environment and on multi-jurisdictional transactions.
  • Experience with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) is strongly preferred.
  • Strong contract drafting skills in Hebrew, French, and English.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Adaptability and a keen ability to learn and understand new products, services, and laws.
  • Previous experience working as in-house counsel is not required.
