What's exciting about the role

Business Development Executive

Reporting to the Regional Director of Sales and serving as an integral member of the sales team, the Business Development Executive will be responsible for selling Verifone’s products and services to drive new business opportunities. This is an outstanding opportunity for a Business Development Executive with a proven track record of selling and generating net new business in a high-growth, mission-driven organization.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Drive revenue within your defined territory, to consistently meet or exceed sales quotas.
  • Cold calling and lead generation
  • Maintain accurate and timely forecasts, with 12-month rolling view.
  • Ensure that account, opportunity, and forecast information is up to date and accurate at all times.
  • Drive day-to-day sales activities with retail customers, partners, and internal business partners.
  • Understand and communicate customer requirements and sales strategy for each opportunity.
  • Lead internal resources to ensure the right people are directly engaged and accountable to resolving customer issues.
  • Coordinate and confidently deliver customer presentations and demonstrations.
  • Actively share competitive intelligence with appropriate internal contacts.
  • Maintain significant face-to-face time with your named accounts (i.e., significant travel required).
  • Passionately represent Verifone in all industry events and customer meetings

Skills and Experience we desire

Knowledge and Experience:

  • Sales hunting experience in the Fintech/Payments industry is highly desirable.
  • Deep understanding of retail business operations and consumer shopping behaviors
  • Proven experience driving net new sales and generating leads
  • 5+ years sales experience, with demonstrated success selling complex solutions into large accounts
  • Previous experience selling payments, point of sale, e-commerce, or cloud-based solutions into the Retail industry preferred
  • Prior experience with Salesforce.com desired
  • Bachelor's level degree or equivalent experience required


  • Excellent business judgment and creative problem-solving skills including negotiation and conflict resolution skills
  • Self-reliant, good problem solver, results oriented
  • Energetic, flexible, collaborative, and proactive; a Business Development Representative who knows and understands the requirements of their clients and proactively anticipates what they need.
  • Exceptional written, oral, interpersonal, and presentation skills and the ability to effectively

  • Flexibility and adaptability in a fast-paced performance-based environment
  • Must be able to travel up to 60%
