What's exciting about the role

We are seeking a skilled Power BI and SQL Developer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in data visualization, data analysis, and database management. This role will be responsible for developing, implementing, and optimizing business intelligence solutions using Power BI and SQL. The successful candidate will work closely with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into efficient and actionable data insights.

Key Responsibilities

Power BI Development and Support:

• Design, develop, and deploy Power BI dashboards and reports
• Create and maintain efficient data models using Power BI.
• Implement row-level security on data and understand application security layer models in Power BI.
• Integrate Power BI reports into other applications using embedded analytics like Power BI service (SaaS) or by API automation.
• Develop and design custom visuals for Power BI.
• Write complex SQL queries to extract and manipulate data from various databases.
• Develop, maintain, and optimize stored procedures, functions, and views.
• Perform data validation and troubleshooting to ensure data accuracy and integrity.
• Optimize database performance through indexing, partitioning, and query optimization techniques.

Data Analysis & Reporting:

• Gather and analyze business requirements to design and implement data solutions.
• Provide actionable insights and recommendations based on data analysis.
• Conduct data profiling and data quality assessments to ensure accurate reporting.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders to create ad-hoc reports and analyses as needed.
• work closely with cross-functional teams, including business analysts, data engineers, and IT staff.
• Provide training and support to end-users on Power BI and SQL-related issues.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and advancements in Power BI, SQL, and data analytics.

Skills and Experience we desire

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field.
• 5-8 yrs of proven experience as a Power BI Developer and SQL Developer.
• Strong proficiency in Power BI, including DAX and Power Query.
• Extensive experience with SQL databases (e.g., SQL Server, MySQL, PostgreSQL).
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with other BI tools Tableau, OBIEE, Business Objects is a plus.
• Knowledge of data warehousing concepts and ETL processes.
• Certification in Power BI and SQL.
