About the role:

A Business Analyst is responsible to co-ordinate the analysis and design of systems and processes according to customer requirements to improve business efficiency and productivity. You will undertake process analysis, design and documentation. Your knowledge of the product and latest releases is kept up to date as you configure applications to client specifications. Working with developers and end users you ensure technical compatibility and user satisfaction.

What you'll do:

  • Always act with integrity and respect for others.
  • Elicit requirements using interviews, document analysis, requirements workshops, surveys, site visits, business process descriptions, use cases, scenarios, business analysis, task, and workflow analysis.
  • Critically evaluate information gathered from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, decompose high-level information into details, abstract up from low-level information to a general understanding, and distinguish user requests from the underlying true needs.
  • Proactively communicate and collaborate with external and internal customers to analyze information needs and functional requirements and deliver the following artefacts as needed: Functional Requirements Document, Business.
  • Requirements Document, Screen and User Interface designs.
  • Work with users to define concepts and under direction of project managers.
  • Be the liaison between the business units, technology teams and support teams.
  • Establish and maintain constructive working relationships with business representatives and other technical teams.
  • Maintain high level of engagement with the business.
  • Lead the team to ensure process improvement, systems quality and efficiency.
  • Assist and peer review where required.
  • Ensure adherence to and understanding of the development methodology.
  • Work closely with others within the delivery team.

What qualification will you need to be successful:

  • Experience in a Business Analyst or similar role.
  • Excellent analytical, research and presentation skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group along with subject matter experts.
  • Ability to understand business processes and business problems.
  • Ability to understand data relationships and how data can be used to solve business problems.
  • Ability to understand and capture business and technical requirements.
  • Ability to develop a broad awareness of the technical architecture and emerging technologies with enough knowledge to determine what is and is not possible.
  • Tertiary qualifications in business, information technology or related discipline essential.
  • Knowledge of Agile methodologies.
  • Have experience of the payments industry.
  • Desirable knowledge and experience in card schemes (visa and Mastercard) and Transaction processing (AS2805 and ISO8583).
  • Experience with Atlassian tool set (JIRA, Confluence).

This role is a 12 - month fixed term employment opportunity.
