What's exciting about the role
The Business Analyst at Verifone is responsible for analyzing high-level business requirements, translating them into detailed functional specifications, and supporting the implementation of business solutions. You will work closely with internal stakeholders, external partners, and cross-functional teams to ensure business needs are clearly understood and effectively delivered.
Responsibilities
- Analyze high-level business requirements and provide effort estimates.
- Elicit and document requirements through interviews, workshops, document analysis, use cases, scenarios, and workflow analysis.
- Critically evaluate information from multiple sources, reconcile conflicts, and distinguish user requests from true business needs.
- Utilize enterprise-wide requirements definition and management tools and methodologies.
- Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to define and document:
- Business Requirements Documents (BRDs)
- Functional Requirements Documents (FRDs)
- Screen and User Interface designs
- Analyze compliance mandates from regulatory bodies (e.g., VISA, MasterCard).
- Support customer homologation processes for Change Requests.
- Partner with QA Engineers to develop and review test cases.
- Prepare and manage test data to support validation efforts.
- Manage multiple initiatives simultaneously with minimal supervision.
- Act as a liaison between business units, technology teams, and support teams.
- Implement small to medium-sized changes in response to evolving business needs.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Business Analyst or in a similar role.
- Experience with enterprise requirement management tools (e.g., JIRA, Confluence, IBM DOORS).
- Knowledge of payment systems and industry standards (e.g., VISA, MasterCard).
- Understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
- Experience with requirements gathering and documentation techniques.
- Familiarity with compliance and regulatory environments (e.g., financial services, payments).
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
- Experience with QA collaboration and test case development is a plus.
- Proven experience with SQL (Oracle, Postgres) and data analysis.
- Basic Unix/Linux knowledge is desired
