We’re seeking an Urgent Care Coding Quality and Education Specialist to join us. This is a remote position.

The Coding Quality & Education (CQE) Specialist plays a key role in ensuring the accuracy, integrity, and compliance of coding practices across Zotec Partners. This position is responsible for conducting quality assurance audits, delivering constructive documentation feedback to providers, and supporting coder education in alignment with company standards and industry guidelines. By fostering accurate coding and complete documentation, the Specialist contributes directly to compliance, revenue integrity, and the quality of patient care reporting.

What you’ll do:
  • Coding Quality Assurance:
    • Conduct audits of charges to validate coding accuracy, ensuring compliance with regulatory and payer guidelines.
    • Prepare audit reports, summaries, and actionable feedback to drive continuous improvement.
  • Education & Training:
    • Provide targeted training and education to coding personnel based on audit results and evolving coding standards.
    • Support onboarding of new clients through coding and documentation reviews, feedback sessions, and distribution of educational materials.
  • Provider & Client Support: Respond promptly and accurately to coding, documentation, and billing questions from providers, clients, and staff.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with CQE colleagues, other departments, and leadership to support projects and assignments. Communicate findings and progress to the Senior Manager or Director.
  • Professional Development: Maintain active coding certification(s), stay current on evolving coding guidelines, payer regulations, and industry trends, and continually advance professional expertise.
What you’ll bring to Zotec:
  • Nationally recognized coding certification (e.g., CPC, CCS, RCC, RHIT, RHIA) is required
  • Minimum of 5 years of specialty-specific coding experience, including at least 1 year in a senior or lead auditing role
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for reporting and tracking
  • Familiarity with medical coding software and audit reporting tools
  • Strong knowledge of coding guidelines, regulatory compliance, and clinical documentation standards
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to provide clear, constructive feedback
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently while fostering collaboration across teams and departments
